Collette Paterson is a designer with a background in textiles and fashion, graduating with an MA from the Royal College of Art in 2009.

She has lived and worked in Shanghai, London and Paris, including 5 years spent developing and directing UK Fashion Design degrees in China and recently designing across fashion and perfume divisions for Thierry Mugler and Swarovski in Paris.

Recently setting up her own design studio, she designs for clients across textile, fashion, accessory and perfume sectors.

In 2011, she launched her own accessories collection focusing on intricately constructed fashion jewellery. Her current collection centres on experiments with slotted structures that are laser-cut and built from perspex. The tactility of the perspex is softened through heavy use of curved and circular forms. It has a highly refined edge with a couture finish, featuring hand-knotted cords and sterling silver details.

Collette is also currently a textile design tutor at Edinburgh College of Art, University of Edinburgh and an approved lecturer at Heriot-Watt University's School of Textiles and Design, focusing on design and innovation.
